Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 October 2026

These terms cover use of the BackToFreedom.co website and any professional service you book through it, other than Narrative-Attack Response. By creating an account or paying for a service, you accept them.

1. Who you are dealing with

The contract is with Back To Freedom. “We”, “us”, and “our” mean Back To Freedom. “You” means the person or organization using the site or buying a service.

The party named on your invoice is Back To Freedom. Payment may be collected through the payment provider attached to our UK business account. That does not change who you are contracting with.

2. What these terms cover

Use of the site. Professional services on the current menu: the Hardening Cohort, the Posture Review, the Baseline Hardening Sprint, and Verified Backup and Restore.

Membership of The Rekindled is named here and will be set out in a membership schedule. Until that schedule is published, a membership is sold on the terms shown on the join page at the time you pay, plus these general terms.

Narrative-Attack Response is not booked or scheduled under these terms. It requires its own terms, agreed in writing, before a date is set or work starts. Paying an invoice, or asking for a call, does not automatically create that engagement.

3. Professional services

Each engagement is what the service page describes, at the price stated, in USD. GBP and Euro cards may be accepted. The amount we receive is the USD. Your bank may add its own conversion fee. That fee is yours.

A Posture Review is written findings and a debrief. A Hardening Sprint is implementation on the machines named at booking. Verified Backup and Restore includes one witnessed restore of the agreed set. The Cohort is a seated run of published modules.

None of these is a certification, a guarantee that you will not be breached, or a guarantee that a platform will restore you. A hardening engagement lowers the chance of intrusion and common failure. It does not make you immune to a targeted or novel attack. A backup engagement proves the validity of a data-restore of the agreed set on the day it was run.

If the scope is larger than the named engagement, we stop and price the addition before doing it.

If you are already in an active compromise, say so before you book and pay. The fixed-price review and the sprint are intended as prevention, not incident response.

4. Membership

Membership parameters are being set separately and will be added here as a schedule. Until then, the tier, price, billing period, and what the tier includes are whatever the join page states at the moment you pay.

Seer members receive 20% off the public price of a professional service covered by these terms. Sage members receive 35% off. The discount applies to the USD price. Members are seen first. That is priority of scheduling, not a promise of a particular start date.

5. What we need from you

Accurate information about the devices, accounts, and situation you want us to deal with. Access to equipment, when the engagement requires it. A working contact.

You are responsible for the validity of your own backups before we touch a machine, unless the engagement is the backup engagement and we have agreed otherwise in writing.

You will not ask us to break the law, to access a system you do not own or have authority over, or to harass, deceive, or threaten another person. We will refuse that work and we will not refund it.

6. Payment

Prices are in USD. Payment is due on booking. We schedule the work when payment clears. A failed payment pauses scheduling.

7. Refunds

A professional service is refunded in full if we have not started. Once we have started, we refund only the portion we have not completed, and only if the remainder cannot usefully be delivered. A witnessed restore that failed because the data was already lost by the client is not a failed engagement.

If we decline the work after you have paid, because it is the wrong engagement or we cannot do it, you are refunded in full unless you have asked us to break the law, to access a system you do not own or have authority over, or to harass, deceive, or threaten another person..

Membership refunds will be set out separately in the membership schedule.

8. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, scrape, or overload the site. Do not use the site to store or distribute anything illegal. Do not resell material you receive from us, or present it as your own.

9. Our material

The site, the modules, the service methods, and the name Back To Freedom are ours. You receive a license to use member material for your own distribution or gain while your membership is active. You do not receive ownership of it.

10. Your material

You keep ownership of the information you give us. We use it to complete the engagement you paid for and to meet a legal duty. We do not sell it. We do not use a client’s case as a public example unless you agree in writing.

We will comply with a lawful demand in the jurisdiction of Back To Freedom. We will not volunteer your information. Where the law allows, we will tell you a demand has been made.

11. Liability

We are liable for death or personal injury caused by our explicit negligence, for fraud, and for anything else the governing law does not allow us to exclude.

Otherwise, our total liability to you in a year is limited to the amount you paid us in that year for the engagement the claim arises from.

We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of audience, loss of a platform account, or loss of data that you did not ask us to back up, to the extent the law allows that exclusion.

12. Ending it

You may stop using the site at any time. We may suspend access if you break these terms, if a payment fails and is not fixed, or if continuing would require us to break the law.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. Continued use after the new date is acceptance. A change does not alter an engagement already paid for and in progress.

14. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If a mandatory consumer right in your country says otherwise, that right stands.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms: the contact us page on BackToFreedom.co, or the address on your invoice.
